CLIENT: Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jiangsu Province, PRC

WORK SCOPE: USPC provided advisory services to CCET (a Division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai Province) on clean energy technology development and applications in China with a particular focus on biomass conversion to fuels and power and combined heat-and-power applications .

SERVICES PROVIDED: Pre-feasibility assessments of biomass conversion to energy, IGCC and PFBC for power generation for industry in the Shanghai region of China. Marketing of projects for feasibility assessments and applications. Projects included:

  • XuZhou project – Liquid methanol production (1.5 million metric tons/year) from coal and 120 MW IGCC power plant
  • Guangdong Bioenergy Project -- Liquid ethanol production (120,000 metric tons/year) from biomass and 120 MW IGCC power plant
